Pathways is a non-profit agency working to provide families with access to high quality, inclusive child development programs and resources. On June 18th, 2004, they held an event which celebrated a completion of examinations by 50 of their child care providers. Mosaics All The Way was hired to provide a 2 hour fun, creative joint-effort mosaic activity for the participants. Below are photos from the event including the final result!.

Didier pre-cut 10 cement board pieces of the puzzle and mixed the thinset on site. Ten tables were set up, each with numerous paper cup containers holding mosaic tesserae of various colors, sizes, materials and thinset.

Each table group was given one piece of the puzzle on which to mount the tesserae.

The ladies were free to mosaic the piece anyway they wished with what was available in their cups.

For almost all of the participants, this was their first hands-on mosaic experience!

And, the result . . .

Didier took the fabricated pieces back to the studio for grouting. After they cured, he took the finished puzzle to Pathways where the artwork was then installed.
